World Thrombosis Day

World Thrombosis Day (WTD) is a year-long global movement observed annually on 13 October that focuses on thrombosis. Commonly known as blood clots, thrombosis is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, with one in four people worldwide dying from conditions related to blood clots.

Irvine Partners has worked to increase public awareness in Nigeria, Kenya, and Uganda around the causes, signs and symptoms of thrombosis, as well as prevention measures. Our efforts in doing so included driving everyday conversations in mainstream media around the life-threatening complications of thrombosis and the association of clots with cancer, heart attack, stroke and other common cardiovascular diseases. We also established WTD spokespeople as authoritative voices and thought leaders by securing print and broadcast interviews, and engaged influencers to reach younger audiences.
